| 11:58 pm | creation of a monster. Yay, I've finished a fic! Or at least the first draft of one. On a whim, RL having been dealing me bad cards for a while, I took a prompt for the Howl-0-Ween fest coming up on Pervy Werewolf. Got an idea right away, and the fic is pretty much finished except for some tweaking and the solution of one major debate I'm having about theme. It goes fast today. Who'd have guessed. And so much for not signing up for anything else until the first two fics are posted. Luckily I've never claimed to be consistent. Ding |

| 3:27 pm | a second fic Well, it looks like I'm going to write at least two fics ... I've signed up for the Daft Day Snarry Swap, and I've got an interesting and not at all confining prompt for it. Two is probably plenty for now, and I'm not going to sign up for anything else until these two fics are done and have met the readers. I hope I can write something using someone else's characters that the participants in/readers of these exchanges will enjoy. It's an audience whose collective opinion I really respect, and includes some writers I consider to be among the very best. Ding |

| 6:34 pm | assignment!!! I got my assignment and I'm so psyched. Of all the requests I read on the sign up thread, and I think I read all of them, this was my favorite. I have a couple of pages of notes already, and an ending that I sort of like. Into the abyss. Ding |

| 9:51 am | Ol' Ding takes the plunge Well, I've done it. I'm going to write a piece of fanfic. I've signed up for the Snupin Santa gift exchange on lupin_snape, so I really have more choice. A deadline, and someone waiting to read my hopefully not-too-dubious effort, should be enough incentive to put me over the edge. I'm eagerly awaiting notification of my assignment so I can start brainstorming some ideas. I have two months to write the thing, so that should give me enough time to do something fairly decent without neglecting my actual work. Now all I have left to worry about is my RL acquaintances finding out about it ...of course, it's possible that some of them are reading this now. Hee Hee. Ding |
